Hillary Clinton’s stupid comment yesterday at a St. Louis rally wasn’t followed by a swift apology and so now many people want at least a bit of clarification. But she never admits she is wrong after artlessly smearing Bernie Sanders — she does nothing in this respect that is right.
Not Hillary Clinton:
On the fight for health care reform—and on the people who really started the conversation.
Yesterday, at my St. Louis rally, I said something inaccurate when speaking about Bernie Sanders record on health care reform. Since then, I have heard from countless Internet denizens who laughed themselves silly after seeing a video of me speaking on the importance of this subject with a supporter standing behind me who looked very much like my opponent, the senator from Vermont. I can see now that this person was indeed Bernie because I have also seen numerous times today that picture of me where I thank Sanders for his support on health care reform and doggone don’t it those guys don’t look the same. I guess if it walks like a duck and lies like a duck….oh wait, did I say that? Fruedian slip — HA HA HA HA HA! Anyhoo…I have accused Mr. Sanders of using artful smears against me during this campaign and while I have done my best to do this myself, I have failed miserably each time and my comments yesterday were no exception to this. I made a mistake, plain and simple when I screwed this up. I wish I had done a better job smearing him on health care reform but it’s too late for that now, and no one would believe me if I tried it again — or heck, would they? Hmmmm...well, anyway, at this point I could go through all the things that Sanders has done over the years for health care reform and write it up here in a lame attempt to convince you that I cared but I really don’t, regardless of what I wrote on that picture. Instead, I want to use this opportunity to talk again about where we’ve come from and where we must go in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Yes, HIV and AIDS, not Bernie’s record on health care reform! That dog won’t hunt! And my HIV/AIDS dodge is working out pretty well so far. That’s my current dodge and I’m sticking with it!
